Warning against pseudo-messianic claims
In the latest issue of the South African Gospel Defence League's (GDL) Newsletter the editor, Mrs. Dorothy Scarborough, warns agaist the dangerous tendency of deifying popular political leaders like Barack Hussein Obama by regarding them as national or even universal "saviours". This reminds her of similar messianic expectations appearing from time to time in history, as e. g. in Germany in the epoc of National-Socialismus. On October 13, 2007, 138 leading Islamic scholars sent a remarkable letter from Amman, Jordan, to Pope Benedict XVI. as well as to the Heads of other Churches and to all Christendom., inviting for an inter-religious dialogue on cooperation for peace. The authors argue that both religions comprise more than half of the earth's total population. Therefore the security of socio-political world peace.depends upon on a peaceful relation and mutual understanding of these two communities. As basis for such dialogue they refer to the double command to love God and one's neighbour, which, they say, is confirmed by the three monotheistic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
This "Common Word Between Us and You" has caused quite a public stir amongst Christian theologians, church leaders and ordinary Christians in many countries, but it also has found a rather divided reception. In view of such confusion the International Christian Network (ICN) decided to ask a group of experts on Islam to elaborate a theological analysis and comment on it. By this we want to give an aid to bewildered Christians to learn about the background an to discern the real aims of this Islamic document. - We hereby publish the full text of our "Response to the Letter of 138 Muslim Scholars to Christendom".

HOW BRITAIN IS TURNING CHRISTIANITY INTO A CRIME
How long will it be before Christianity becomes illegal in Britain? This is no longer the utterly absurd and offensive question that on first blush it would appear to be.
An evangelical Christian campaigner, Stephen Green was arrested and charged last weekend with using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
So what was this behaviour? Merely trying peacefully to hand out leaflets at a gay rally in Cardiff.
So what was printed on those leaflets that was so threatening, abusive or insulting that it attracted the full force of the law?
Why, none other than the majestic words of the 1611 King James Bible.
The problem was that they were those bits of the Bible which forbid homosexuality. The leaflets also urged homosexuals to "turn from your sins and you will be saved".
But to the secular priests of the human rights culture, the only sin is to say that homosexuality is a sin.
Our society is now so upside-down that, by doing nothing more than upholding a fundamental tenet of Christianity, he was treated like a criminal.
And yet at the same time, the police are still studiously refusing to act against Islamic zealots abusing British freedom to preach hatred and incitement against the West.

"Under the heading "One Church - three Confessions" Dr. Peter P. J. Beyerhaus, D.D., Professor emeritus at Tuebingen University, presents his ecumenical vision of the complementarity of the three eccelsiastical traditions - Protestant, Roman-Catholic and Orthodox, and their need of mutual correction. He makes use of the typology of the Russian philosopher Wladmir Soloviev, who in his novel "Short Narrative of the Antichrist" (1899) related the three Apostels Peter, John and Paul as symbolical for the theology and spirituality of those main confessions.
